Fall Kick-off
Summertime is drawing to an end and that means that it is time for CHANGE here at FBC Sunnyvale.
We want to make you aware of some awesome changes coming on August 22nd. As many of you may already know we are changing the times to make room for everyone God is going to send our way. We also in the Champion’s Ministry are adding an element that has been needed in our programming for a long time. Beginning August 22nd we are adding a Celebration Service specifically geared for Champions that are in 3rd thru 6th grade. This service will be an exciting component that is added to your child’s arsenal and give them a service that is geared directly at their age with elements that are appropriate for their learning styles. We will only offer this service at 11 and it will be located in the center of the campus in the Core/Building D. We also have a few changes to the times of the activities offered for the Fall of 2010.
Many of you may be aware of the activites that are available, however I want to take a moment and let you know a little snip-it of what is offered to help you and your Champion on their journey.
Sunday School- Is a time of learning and application of God’s Word. Each week we look at a Bible story and find application in our everyday life. We also have the best teachers on earth that have amazing ideas to promote a fun environment that is conducive to your child’s learning style. We meet at 8:15 and 9:30 on Sunday mornings.
Blast- (Children’s Choir)- In this program we learn how to live a life of worship. We play and make a joyful noise to the Lord. This is for 4 yr olds thru 6th grade. We also meet at 4 o’clock on Sunday afternoon beginning Sept 12.
AWANA- AWANA equips children by memorizing God’s Word and putting it deep into their heart. This helps Champions be ready when they are challenged to stand up for Christ! We meet on Sunday evenings at 5 on Sept 12.
D4K- Boot Camp is an amazing program that equips Champions to stand up for Jesus when this crazy world says to sit down! We are starting a Leaders In Training program for 3rd thru 6th graders that will give them the ability to lead inside and outside of the church. We will have a retreat and two short term mission trips for those that set the standard! We meet on Wednesday nights at 6:45 beginning on Sept 15 with a mandatory parent meeting on Sept 8.
I wanted to give you a small piece of what is available to assist you as you parent your Champion. God has richly blessed us and we are excited to be in partnership with you. No child will be officially enrolled in a Sunday school class or any other activities until the Enrollment Form for Fall 2010 has been filled out. This is to ensure that our Champions are in their age appropriate class and all of their information is up-to-date. Please note that if your child attends multiple hours of Sunday school you need to note that on the enrollment form to ensure enrollment in all classes.
